About Royal Enfield

dir="ltr">“Made like a gun, goes like a Bullet” is the iconic catchphrase associated with Royal Enfield, known around the world for producing retro-styled motorcycles. Established in 1901, it is the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production.

Started as a precision parts supplier to the Royal Small Arms of Enfield, Middlesex in England, it was in 1893 when the Enfield Manufacturing Company would create their first bicycle, the Royal Enfield. Later in 1952 Enfield would leave a lasting footprint in India when a British motorcycle importer, Madras Motors, received an order of 800 350cc Bullets from the Indian Army. This would eventually lead to a partnership between the two, culminating with the company setting up its first overseas plant in Tiruvottiyur near Chennai. This venture resulted in the formation of Enfield India in 1955, which later became Royal Enfield, and went on to spawn some of the most successful retro machines in the market today like the Bullet 350, Classic 350 and the Interceptor 650, to name just a few.

These days Royal Enfields dominate the Indian market, with a firm foothold in the entry-level classic, cruiser and adventure segments as well as the middleweight segment with their 650cc twin platform. Acquiring Harris Performance, a UK-based design and fabrication firm, enhanced their capabilities and helped them produce their highly successful offering in the adventure category, the Himalayan, and probably the most value-for-money middleweight bikes in the world - the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 twins. Their bikes today have become more refined, polished, and reliable, at the same time still dripping with the old-school retro charm that their buyers around the world have come to know and love.

Royal Enfield plans to launch one bike in every quarter for the next few years, that’s an exciting 20+ total models that should offer great value-for-money and road presence that, in theory, would be unmatched by its direct competitors for some years to come. There is no doubt that this brand will have a special place in both the Indian and global motorcycle markets for the foreseeable future.

Royal Enfield Bikes Question and Answers

Both bikes are good in their own forte. The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is aimed at attracting new and younger riders to the brand. And thanks to its styling, compact proportions, and friendly nature, it does that pretty well. Royal Enfield has nailed the pricing of this retro roadster, making it more affordable than some premium small-capacity motorcycles. Considering the pricing and the product, Royal Enfield clearly has a winner in its hands. On the other hand, Honda Hornet 2.0 is a very likable motorcycle with great handling dynamics and a frugal engine. The presence of bits such as the USD fork and LED lighting gives it that premium feel but the lack of engine excitement does put a damper on spirits. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your city and brand accordingly for dealership details.
