TVS Raider Latest Updates

TVS has launched a new variant of the Raider, loaded to the brim with geeky features. Check out what it has to offer in our launch story here.

The TVS Raider marks the Hosur-based bike maker's return to the 125cc segment. It is slotted in the premium spectrum of the 125cc space, and comes with several segment-first features.

TVS Raider Engine

The TVS Raider 125 is propelled by a 124.8cc single-cylinder motor which shares its bore and stroke figures with the TVS NTorq 125. Apart from that, the engine is brand new and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. It produces 11.38PS and 11.2Nm, making the Raider one of the most powerful bikes in the segment. It gets segment-first two ride modes: Power and Eco. It is underpinned by a split single-downtube frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with grippy TVS Remora tyres. It gets a 240mm disc or a 130mm drum brake at the front end. While the 130mm rear drum brake and CBS are standard across all trims.

TVS Raider Variants

The TVS Raider is available in three variants: Drum, Disc and SmartXonnect; each of which are priced at Rs 85,973, Rs 93,489 and Rs 99,990 respectively (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

TVS Raider Design

The LED face on the TVS Raider seems quite familiar, almost Bumblebee-like. With its bikini fairing, it is in line with TVS’ sporty naked design language. The fuel tank is large and chunky with sharp tank extensions. The edgy side panels and split seat further accentuate the sporty looks. However, the rear design is a bit underwhelming with the tail looking out of place.

TVS Raider Features

The TVS Raider gets LED headlight and taillight, however, the bike uses bulbs for the turn indicators. The Drum and Disc variant gets a negative LCD instrument cluster that shows the standard data including speedo, tachometer, trip meter and a fuel gauge. It also indicates low fuel, gear position, clock, fuel efficiency and ride modes. The SmartXonnect variant gets a 5-inch colour TFT screen with the SmartXonnect Bluetooth module offering features like turn-by-turn navigation, weather updates, music control, incoming/missed call alerts, voice assist, auto navigation to the nearest petrol pump in case of low fuel, cricket updates, social media updates and SMS alerts.

TVS Raider Competitors

The Raider 125 allows TVS to aim squarely at premium 125cc rivals like the Honda SP125, Hero Glamour 125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125, and Keeway SR125.

What is good and bad in Raider?

  • Raider Positives

For just a 125cc the Raider's performance is exciting; Riding position and seat are very comfortable; Packed to the gills with segment-first features

  • Raider Negatives

Feedback from the front brake could be better; Some design elements can be a little divisive

  • Expert's Conclusion

The Raider puts TVS back on the map of 125cc motorcycles and it's opened well. The bike is fun to ride, feature-packed, well priced and feels premium. It is certainly one of the most well-rounded offerings in the 125cc space.

The driving experience is really good and it never felt that i am driving a 125cc because of the bike look, As well as handlebar is wider, As well as pick up.If your short, Then it's your right choice to go with raider. The milleage around 55 - 60km per litter. Most of the time people in road enquire about my raider, It's feels like we have an superbike 😆❤.The other stuffs are exhauster sound is lovely and the intelligo feature wonders you.The only one con's is after your reaching 60kmph the vehicle will start vibrating. That's it.

I own tvs raider black color, First of all the look is stunning in this segment and it has good pickup.I am getting mileage of 60+ with pillion in city rides but the lack of kick start rod is disappointing a little bit which is essential in some situations. But overall it is a budget friendly, Very stylish bike.I loved it a lot.😍🥰.
