TVS Jupiter 125 Latest Updates

TVS Motors has revised the prices of its entire range of scooters. Check our story for more details.

TVS Jupiter 125 Engine

The Jupiter 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.8cc fuel-injected two-valve motor, delivering 8.3PS and 10.5Nm. TVS claims the new scooter returns best-in-class fuel economy. The engine is housed in a new frame, sprung on a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock. Thanks to the new chassis, the fuel tank has moved under the floorboard, making way for bigger underseat storage capable of holding two helmets. It runs on 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (on the top-spec variant) with 90-section tubeless tyres, clamped by a 220mm disc up front (130mm drum also available as a variant) and a 130mm rear drum brake. At 109kg, the Jupiter 125 weighs 2kg more than the 110cc scooter.

TVS Jupiter 125 Variants

The TVS Jupiter BS6 is available in three variants: Drum Brake (Rs 78,175), Drum Alloy Wheel (Rs 80,625) and Disc Brake variant (Rs 85,075).

TVS Jupiter 125 Design

The new TVS Jupiter 125’s design is identical to its smaller sibling, but it’s visually bulkier. It looks fairly conservative, with a flowing design and no over-the-top elements. The fascia is reminiscent of the smaller Jupiter, but to help it stand out, TVS has thrown in a set of LED DRLs. There’s plenty of bling here too; you get chrome accents on the side body panels and the front apron. At the back, the Jupiter 125 gets an LED taillight with body-coloured grab handles (with integrated reflector). All these make the Jupiter 125 look quite premium.

TVS Jupiter 125 Features

As expected from a TVS offering, the Jupiter 125 packs multiple features. These include LED headlamp/tail lamp/ DRLs, while the indicators are bulb units. Additionally, TVS has thrown in an informative semi-digital instrument cluster that displays fuel efficiency, fuel level, distance-to-empty, Eco and power telltale lights, apart from the basics. Bluetooth connectivity has been given a miss this time around, but TVS says it will introduce a Bluetooth-equipped variant if there’s adequate demand. The new Jupiter 125 takes practicality up a notch. It gets a front fuel filler cap, class-leading 33-litre underseat storage, a 2-litre front cubby space with a USB port, and a multi-function key. An ACG starter, i-TOUCHstart in TVS’ lingo, also comes standard. There’s also TVS’ Intelli-Go start/stop system for improved fuel efficiency.

TVS Jupiter 125 Competitors

The Jupiter 125 competes with the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. Price-wise, it competes with the Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Hero Splendor iSmart, Yamaha Fascino 125, and even its sporty cousin, the NTorq 125.
