Royal Enfield Himalayan Latest Updates

Pune-based Auto Engina is building a 822cc parallel-twin Royal Enfield Himalayan which will be unveiled at Rider Mania in November. Check out this handbuilt 822cc parallel-twin Himalayan here.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Engine

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is propelled by a 411cc, single-cylinder mill making 24.31PS and 32Nm. It paired to a five-speed gearbox. The latest iteration of the Himalayan remains a capable off-roader, suspended by long-travel suspension units at both ends. The affordable ADV tourer rolls on a 21-/17-inch spoke wheel setup that come wrapped in dual-purpose CEAT tyres. For braking, the bike features a 300mm front disc with a twin-piston caliper and a 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. Switchable dual-channel ABS comes as standard.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Design

The Royal Enfield Himalayan gets a rather simple and rugged design. The wide selection of colour schemes make the ADV more appealing. Additionally, the windscreen, tank braces, and the tan brown seat (only for Mirage Grey colour) add to the aesthetics of the adventure bike.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Features

The Royal Enfield Himalayan isn’t loaded with features but its 2021 update has considerably improved the package. The instrument cluster, although same, gets a new pod for the Tripper Navigation system sold as an accessory. The system allows for turn-by-turn navigation on the ADV. However, it still misses out on LED lighting.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Competitors

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is an affordable adventure tourer and undercuts its rivals the, KTM 390 Adventure, KTM 250 Adventure, and the BMW G 310 GS in terms of pricing. A more affordable alternative would be the Hero XPulse 200, however, it lacks the touring capabilities of the Himalayan.

What is good and bad in Himalayan?

  • Himalayan Positives

Great ergonomics for touring or stand-up riding, Long-travel suspension aids in brilliant off-road riding, spoked rims and tall ground clearance, Switchable ABS helps to lock the rear wheel under off-road conditions.

  • Himalayan Negatives

Braking performance can be improved. \r\nFit and finish levels can be better. \r\nGearbox is notchy and the engine heats up in crawling traffic.

  • Expert's Conclusion

The Royal Enfield Himalayan kick-started the affordable adventure touring genre in India in 2016. Despite the arrival of new competitors in the market, it continues to outshine them as an all-rounder. RE has ironed out the majority of the issues that plagued the first-gen motorcycle, however, brakes still remain an Achilles heel.

  • Best in the segment. it is

Best in the segment. It is comfortable in both offroad and highway.Mileage 25-30.Its better than ktm 390 adventure.Service cost is higher.I am using this bike since 2018.After sale service is really good.Worst thing about the bike is its tyre life.It only lasts for 6000 or 7000 kms.

    Issues reading

I own my machine on nov-2021.I got some issues regarding manufacturing defects of front head lamp. But the royal enfield service centre has committed to replacing new one with no cost.To be frank with my heart full experience re has implanted a perfect machine to explore the world. This machine has chosen for touring and off-roading, I don't know about other motorcycles in royal enfield but, I do suggest himalayan built- quality of parts must be improved much better than now to unfade and preserve the name of royal enfield in history for our future generation hope this must be truly rectify to customer satisfaction for on-road and off- road experience.Machine handling is extremely good for well known riders.#built for all roads #built for no roads, Ground clearance of 220mm has taken a biggest part of contribution in this machine.I suggest the built type of rear-tyre pattern has to be work well to get extra life for tyre grips. As we all know by god's creation "time is precious & time waits for no one" the moment we missed out can't be taken again, We can explore the world much faster than anything by this machine.Of course everyone loves riding or sitting back in a motorcycle to travel a distance longer but how inbetween we might take rest to continue ride so, By comparing himalayan to other motorcycles.I strongly assure that we prefer only less time to rest your body the machine has built with better stability to ride in a stand position to relax our body."last but not least" i must thank royal enfield family has brought an wild expandable adventure machine into the market and am so happy to being a part of your family.Good luck for new upcoming motorcycles 🙏.

  • The indian adventure bike

The indian adventure bike with the best design is the royal enfield himalayan. It is designed simply and robustly. The adventure motorcycle's attractiveness is heightened by the new colours, Which make it appear more delicious. The new windscreen, Updated tank braces, And new tan brown seat (only for the mirage grey colour) all improve the himalayan's looks. Its design ups its curb appeal and improves its road presence.
