Kia EV6 Latest Updates

Kia has launched the EV6 with prices starting from Rs 59.95 lakh. Being a CBU, it will be limited to 100 units initially with all units accounted for. Deliveries for the all-wheel drive variants will start from September, while the rear-wheel drive variants will commence from December. The Kia EV6 has bagged a perfect 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. It is Kia India’s first all-electric offering, based on the dedicated Hyundai Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) models.

Kia EV6 Engine

The EV6 gets two powertrain options, both of which are fed using a 77.4kWh battery pack. The rear-wheel drive unit is paired to a single electric motor producing 229PS and 350Nm, while the all-wheel drivetrain gets dual electric motors with an output of 325PS and 605Nm. The EV supports fast charging which can juice up the batteries from 10 to 80 percent in around 18 minutes. The rear-wheel drive setup has a WLTP claimed range of 528km, while the all-wheel drivetrain is good for 505km on a single charge.

The EV6 gets a host of equipment onboard including an integrated 12-inch instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment system, dual zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats and a panoramic sunroof. Its safety features include eight airbags and a bunch of ADAS systems like automatic emergency braking, blind spot deduction, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. It also works as a portable power house as it can power up certain appliances.
