KTM 200 Duke Latest Updates

KTM Dukes with new colours have started to make their way to dealerships. Check out the deets here. The bikes were launched recently in new colour schemes at no extra prices. Click here for all the details. KTM hiked the prices for all its bikes in July 2022. Here’s how much your favourite KTM costs now.

KTM 200 Duke Engine

Power comes from a 199cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected DOHC, 4-valve motor. The BS6-compliant motor sees no drop in performance and continues to deliver the same 25PS at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8000rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox. Given that the 200 Duke BS6 weighs 9kg more than its BS4 predecessor, expect a slight dip in overall performance. The 200 Duke BS6 continues to be the most powerful 200cc motorcycle you can buy in India. The KTM 200 Duke gets a new split trellis frame. This frame seen on the larger 250 Duke and 390 Duke offers better serviceability and is more affordable to replace in case you damage it in a crash. With the new BS6-compliant exhaust, ground clearance has dropped 20mm and is 155mm now. It gets premium WP suspension in the form of 43mm upside-down forks and preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is via ByBre 300mm front disc with radially mounted callipers and a 230mm rear disc. The tyres continue to be the same 110/70-17 front and 150/60-17 MRF REVZ units.

KTM 200 Duke Variants

The KTM 200 Duke BS6 is available in just one variant.

KTM 200 Duke Design

The KTM 200 Duke now looks sharper and identical to the 250 Duke. To tell them apart, KTM has given both motorcycles different liveries. Also, the 250 Duke has a side-slung exhaust while the 200 Duke continues to use an underbelly exhaust setup. The new KTM bike has the ‘Duke’ name across the fuel tank with the 200 logo in smaller font below it. It is available in two new colours: Electronic Orange and Ceramic White.

KTM 200 Duke Features

The 200 Duke continues to use a halogen headlamp but now gets LED DRLs. It also has an LED tail lamp and LED turn indicators. The fully digital instrument console has been carried over and includes the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, real-time mileage, average fuel consumption, and average speed. While the BS4 200 Duke had single-channel ABS, KTM has equipped the 200 Duke BS6 with dual-channel ABS.

KTM 200 Duke Competitors

The KTM 200 Duke competes with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200. The new Honda Hornet 2.0 is just a rung lower and cannot be considered as its direct rival. While not direct rivals, the Yamaha MT-15, Yamaha FZ 25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 serve as viable competitors as well.

What is good and bad in Duke 200?

  • Duke 200 Positives

Looks sharp and aggressive, Still great performance for a 200cc bike even today, Now gets dual-channel ABS

  • Duke 200 Negatives

Quite expensive for a 200cc, Motor needs to be revved hard to extract the maximum

  • Expert's Conclusion

The design update has given the KTM 200 Duke a new lease of life. Also, the fact that the new BS6-compliant motor does not lose out on performance almost makes it feel like a win-win. That said, the substantial hike in price means it is now more expensive than larger motorcycles such as the Suzuki Gixxer 250. However, when it comes to thrills, the KTM 200 Duke delivers it in spades!

Ktm 200 duke is a best bike, An unapologentic bright, Loud, Fast and frantic motorcycle to come to the motorcycle looks new, Retains the same motor while being priced absurdly high it is finally here.It is a full updated version.Engine 199.5cc liquid coole bs6 power 25ps.Tank capacity 13.5 liter.

  • Driving experience is very

Driving experience is very good. You will feel like you are running over the road.Pick up and acceleration is very high. You feel a high power engine.Build quality is ok ok.Although itvhas high maintenance cost.Best thing is power worst thing is maintenance and braking. You have to put alot of efforts to stop bikenover 100 kmph. After service its looks like new feel like new.

  • Super pickup powerful braking

Super pickup has powerful braking on the front but the rear break is not so good abs properly worked stock tyre good for high speeds but grabrail or muddy roads and sharp cornering are not as well spent on MRF tyres. Ground clearance is not a headache but when you with a pillion then it's touched every small to short bumper. Chain cleaning every 500-600kms neither rust and jumped sure faced.

  • 4.6
